Just like an Olympic Suma Wrestler and an Olympic Track and Field sub-four minute miler are not the same; neither are All Terrain Vehicles. Each ATV is a compromise for its intended use and when choosing the right ATV for you or your family you need to consider this.

There are ATVs, which are used as work horses and can carry lots of weight with excellent low-end torque. They are truly great machines and can go places other equipment would not dream of going and strong as an Ox. Then there are ATV Racing toys, which are so light-weight you would swear they can fly. The sportsters pay extra for these high-tech machines and often do try to fly. They are light, fast and offer the ultimate in maneuverability as well.

Many manufacturers of ATVs attempt to tap into multiple markets and they sell to hunters, farmers and even the military and they also sponsor races and riders in order to get the dare-devils out there to buy their latest innovations. You must realize that all ATVs are Not Equal, they never were, just like humans some are specially suited for tasks that another could barely perform.

When choosing a perfect ATV or UTV for you; you must decide in advance what you will be using this machine for and where and then find the one, which is right for you. If you are looking to race around for the fun of it, no need in paying the extra money for a workhorse with a solid and steady heavy duty steel frame. And if you are looking for an ATV to work worth you should be expecting to set any land speed records either. Consider all this in 2006.
